CHIWOO CHEONWANG SILVER MEDALS

CHIWOO CHEONWANG MEDALLIONS

Celebrate the “God of War” with the Chiwoo Cheonwang series. This .999 fine silver series showcases a progression of battle undertaken by Chiwoo Cheonwang-- an influential leader around 2600 BC in Korean culture. Chiwoo was said to wear a demon-like mask during battles to instill fear in the hearts of his enemy. According to folklore, he was also able to perform magical spells and control the weather.

MYTHOLOGICAL GOD OF WAR

In Asian Mythology, Chiwoo defeated the Yellow Emperor as he led the Nine Li tribe into war in ancient china. He is considered a founding father of Korea and China and his descendants are thought to have populated Korea. Chiwoo’s sword and shield with warhorse stand by his side during each battle--symbolizing the impressive power and charismatic persona of this war hero.

CHIWOO HONORED TODAY

Even today, Chiwoo is an integral part of South Korean culture. He is a mascot of the national soccer team, “Red Devils,” and is in many aspects of art, literature, and pop culture. These make an ideal gift for military enthusiasts, South Korean history buffs, or national soccer team supporters.

SERIES DESIGN

The Chiwoo Cheonwang series is so valuable and awe-striking that it put KOMSCO (South Korean Minting) on the map. Investors worldwide paid attention. It features progressive designs focusing on military exploits by the famous and legendary Chiwoo.

Each year of the series showcases a changing design. The designs each year follow an order. In 2016, Chiwoo stood alone in the field, ready for his fight. In 2017, he mounts his warhorse prepared for battle. 2018 you’ll see Chiwoo battling his enemies with a sword ready to go. In 2019, he surveys his battle high atop a mountain.

Chiwoo Cheonwang medals come in protective plastic flips or mint tubes for multiples. They are 99.9% pure silver and hold worldwide acclaim. Additionally, there is a security feature on the obverse. “AG” or “999” will show depending on the angle you hold the coin. These are limited mintage. Finally, they measure in 1 clay, which means a measurement of an amount of land, including its soil, earth, ground, and dirt.
