Known as the God of War, he led the Nine Li tribe in ancient China and is best known for his defeat of the Yellow Emperor and is honored as one of the founding fathers of both China and Korea. Listed as the 14th of 18 heads of the State of Shinshi, his descendants are thought to have later populated Korea. Today, he leads the way in South Korea’s national soccer team, the Red Devils, as their mascot.
