Perth Mint Exclusive Releases

About Perth Mint

Perth Mint is one of the most prestigious and oldest mints in Australia. Since June of 1899, it continues to produce some of the most beautiful and high-quality gold and silver coins. It is one of the three branches of the Royal London Mint.

In the 19th century, the Perth Mint supplied Australia with its local currency. Australian's locals mined the currency. Then, shipped back to Great Britain to be refined and processed by the Royal London Mint. Finally, it would go back to Australia. As one might expect, this was a long and costly process. Hence, the Perth Mint was born. The British government went to build several mints in Australia, including in Sydney, Melbourne and of course Perth. Perth was under Britannic ownership until 1970. Then, the government of Western Australia took ownership. Finally, in 1987 it went to the Gold Corporation.

The Perth Mint produces exceptional coinage. The obverse of all the Perth Mint coins features the portrait of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
