2018 10 oz South Korea Silver Tiger Medal BU

This beautiful bullion medal is part of the Chiwoo Cheonwang Silver Bullion Series and showcases the mighty and majestic Korean (Siberian) Tiger. KOMSCO, the official mint of South Korea, has launched their first Brilliant Uncirculated Korean Silver Tiger in a 10 oz size. KOMSCO expects to release only 2,000 of these medals.
On the obverse is a portrayal of the majestic Korean tiger. The handsome fellow is perching down on the ground surrounded by nature. Additionally, you’ll see “KOREAN TIGER,” “10 OZ,” and “2018” on the medal. The reverse depicts the Korean artistic map. Letters from the Korean alphabet assemble on the map. The national emblem sits on the left. A security feature is on the right. It also reads “Republic of Korea” and “FINE SILVER 999.”
The Korean, or Siberian, the tiger is facing endangerment. Moreover, it is known as the animal that represents South Korea. According to legend, the Korean Tiger was seen last in 1922. Additionally, the tale is that the last Korean Tiger was hunted at that time on Mount Daeduk in Gyeongju. However, statistics say that about 400 tigers are left living in Russia or Far Easter parts of Korea.
