The Regal Coin Range

In 2019, the British Royal Mint trumpeted the release of the first coins in “The Royal Arms” series. This year, Bullion Exchanges provides the newest issues in this series. Firstly, the 1 oz Gold Royal Arms Coin and 1 oz Silver Royal Arms Coin make their triumphant return in the new 2020 coins range. Additionally, three new coins join the coin range as well:  1/10 oz Gold Royal Arms Coin, 1 oz Platinum Royal Arms Coin, and 10 oz Silver Royal Arms Coin. All of the coins in this year’s batch arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated Condition, adding to their appeal.

Intel on the Imperial Image

A Coat of Arms refers to a heraldic visual design that displays information regarding a royal family’s genealogy and achievements. European nobility began using this symbolic imagery in the 12th century, with designs and related heraldry traditions differing across country lines. For example, in English and Scottish tradition, an individual, rather than a family, utilizes a Coat of Arms. This differs from the Scandanavian tradition, where a Coat of Arms represents regions and cities, as well as French tradition, where it represents an entire family. The Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, featured in this coin series, is currently used by Queen Elizabeth II. The Royal Arms serves to identify the Head of State of the United Kingdom.

About the Dignified Design

The obverse of all the coins portrays the profile bust of Queen Elizabeth II, facing right. She wears her royal crown and regal jewelry.  2020 Royal Arms Coins The reverse of the coins features the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom. A lion and unicorn support a shield bearing the crest representing the nations of the United Kingdom. Three lions represent England, the rampant lion represents Scotland, and the harp represents Ireland. ‘Dieu et mon droit’ (‘God and my right’) is inscribed underneath the lion and unicorn while ‘Honi soit qui mal y pense’ (‘shame upon him who thinks evil upon it’) is inscribed on the shield. Additionally, the background features a striking radial line texture that enhances the design.

Hi Mark, Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, we do not have mintage numbers for these coins because the Royal Mint has not advertised them as limited mintage. Hope that helps!
