Roll of 20 - 1878-1904 Morgan Silver Dollar VG-VF (Random Year)

Morgan Silver dollars are among the most popular collector's silver coins. These coins were minted from 1878-1904 and for one last time in 1921. With many of Morgan Dollars being more than 100 years old, it is not easy to find them in good condition. Bullion Exchanges offers Morgan Silver Dollars in Very Good to Very Fine condition. The year will be picked randomly, based on our current availability.

Coin Features:

  • Roll of 20 - each coin contains .7734 troy oz of .900 fine silver.
  • Very Good to Very Fine Condition. Minted from 1878-1904. Dates will be chosen randomly based on our current availability.
  • Multiples of 20 come in protective plastic tubes.
  • Obverse: Left facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a Liberty Cap with the word “LIBERTY” inscribed on the ribbon. The cap is decorated with two heads of wheat and two cotton blossoms. 13 Stars, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and Year of Mintage encircle the main device. Design by George T. Morgan.
  • Reverse: Features a George T. Morgan design of majestic bald eagle with outstretched wings clutching olive branch and arrows in its talons to symbolize peace and preparedness. Inscriptions: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

Why buy Morgan Silver Dollars?

  • Widely recognized hence easy to buy and sell.
  • Popular for its artistic appeal with collectors.
  • These coins are highly liquid and can be readily marketed.
  • For a person who is looking to buy in bulk on a budget, these coins are the best.
  • The Morgan Dollars have 90% silver content, hence they make for a great investment.

The large size of the Morgan Dollars with a beautiful image of Lady Liberty is a pretty sight. Collectors love to collect these coins and investors love to invest in them because Morgan Dollar has something for all of those who put their money in it. The great artistic appeal of the fine design on the obverse and reverse attracts the collectors towards it. There are also other factors which add to its numismatic appeal. Silver Morgan Dollars were minted at five different mints; the Philadelphia mint which bears no mint mark, the New Orleans Mint (O), San Francisco Mint (S), Carson City Mint (CC), and Denver Mint (D). They were minted from 1878-1904 and then once more in 1921. So based on the permutation and combination of mint marks as well as dates, numismatists have a huge set to complete as the coin was one of the long-running series.

As far as investors are concerned, well they are just investing in good junk silver. All the pre-1965 U.S. Silver Dollars are called junk silver, but it does not mean they are really trash. It just means that they are preferred less from the numismatic point of view and more from the investor’s point of view. From an investor’s point of view, Morgan Dollars are a great investment vehicle as they contain 90% silver in them, and demand for precious metal never goes out of demand! Since Morgan Dollars are available at the most competitive premiums in the industry, more and more investors flock to buy them in bulk. They are not just investing, they are also securing their future, and as everyone knows that Morgan Dollars were legal tenders issued by Government of United States, and in a time of crisis if dollar value dips, these Morgan Dollars will come in handy like never before.

Pretty Much What I Expected (Review by rickmck)
Bought one roll of VG-VF Morgans and I'd say they were pretty much on mark as described. Might be a couple that don't quite make it to VG, but nothing to really complain about in this roll. I'm happy and would buy again.
