The NZ Mint's new Chibi Coin Collection debuted in 2020 to great excitement from the bullion community. The third release in the collection, and the 2nd in the part of the DC Comics Chibi Coin Series, is the formidable 2020 Silver Wonder Woman Chibi Coin. Wonder Woman, born Diana, Princess of Themyscira, is one of the most beloved heroes in the DC Comic Universe. While disguised as her alter-ego Diana Prince, the powerful princess gained extensive military experience and occupied numerous jobs from museum curator to law enforcement officer. As a descendent of the Greek gods, Wonder Woman is gifted with superhuman abilities including super strength and speed, near-invincibility, flight, healing powers, and partial-immortality.  On top of her inherent powers, she has been trained as an athlete, acrobat, martial artist, and military/combat strategist.

The obverse of the Silver Wonder Woman Chibi Coin includes the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II wearing her royal diadem. Inscriptions include the Queen’s name, legal tender, country, year, face value, weight, purity, and DC copyright.

The reverse presents a Chibi style Wonder Woman wearing her classic costume with her famous deflective arm bracers and projectile tiara.  Wonder Woman’s head is larger than her body to adhere to the Japanese Chibi art style.
