Released as part of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Program, the 2011 Olympic National Park coin represents the eighth design in the series. The ATB program began in 2010, inspired by the original 1932 Washington Quarter, and was created to celebrate the nation’s most treasured parks, forests, and historic sites. Each ATB coin features a unique reverse design honoring a specific location.
Olympic National Park is a nearly one million acre park boasting lush snow-shrouded mountains, lavish rainforests and the sensational Pacific Coastline. The park is home to a few particularly diverse ecosystems and protects a rich mosaic of natural history. Untamed waters crash against a shoreline rich with life, while the park also features winding trails and an awe inspiring preserved wilderness.
