The design of this Federal Reserve currency note features Andrew Jackson. Jackson was the 7th President of the United States whose supporters founded the Democratic party in the 1800s. Before his presidency, he served in the House of Representatives and the US Senate for Tennessee. He is most known for his controversial Presidential Trail of Tears or “Indian Removal Act” that forced the relocation of Native Americans in the states. Although he appears on the modern US $20 dollar bill, he was originally featured on this note.

The front features a portrait of Andrew Jackson and information about the note including the serial number, blue seal, face value, and country. The back displays the denomination and vignettes that feature farming and industrial expansion. The workers on the left side drive horses pulling plows through an open field, and the right side showcases organized factories with smoke pluming into the sky.
