$10 Gold Eagle Indian Head - Brilliant Uncirculated BU (Random Year)

The $10 Gold Eagle Indian Head - Brilliant Uncirculated BU (Random Year) is one of Augustus Saint-Gaudens's beautiful creations and we get to see Lady Liberty in the most unusual and unique form. The coins that were designed by this celebrated sculptor are known to have exceptional artistic brilliance. These designs revolutionized the US Coinage which had not seen any change for almost 60 years.

The coins of the US had not seen a change for almost 60 years before President Theodore Roosevelt decided to add some refreshing visual musing to the coinage of the USA. He personally felt that the coins that were in circulation were hideous, and therefore in 1904, President Roosevelt proposed introducing new designs to the US coins. The coins were supposed to be artistically appealing and to make this requirement come true, the president called in for his friend and the famous sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.

Augustus Saint-Gaudens was an extremely popular sculptor of his time with some of his best works gracing the museums, parks, cemeteries, and other monuments of the USA. Roosevelt’s inaugural medal was designed by Saint-Gaudens previously and Roosevelt was extremely impressed by his work and commissioned him to design the five denominations: Double Eagle, Eagle, Half Eagle, Quarter Eagle, and Cent.
