Goldback is introducing a new 1/4 Goldback denomination in 2026, further expanding its lineup of fractional gold notes. Each 1/4 Goldback contains 1/4,000th of a troy ounce of 24-karat gold and is designed to function seamlessly alongside existing Goldback denominations.

To accommodate the smaller gold content while preserving visibility and durability, the 1/4 Goldback utilizes a more compact format, approximately the size of a standard business card. The denomination is projected to debut with the Idaho Goldback series, with additional quarter-note designs planned for Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona later in 2026.

9- Idaho Goldbacks – Officially launching on March 24, 2026, the Idaho Goldback series celebrates the state’s rugged mountains, pristine rivers, and pioneering heritage. This release expands the reach of Goldback currency in the Pacific Northwest and also introduces a new 1/4 Goldback denomination, offering an even more accessible way to own and transact with physical gold. Washington D.C. Goldback: A 250th Anniversary Commemorative Issue

To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, a special single-issue Washington D.C. Goldback was created as a national commemorative rather than a state series. Unlike standard Goldback releases, this issue is limited to one denomination and was produced in a strictly capped mintage, underscoring its significance as both a historical tribute and a collectible gold note.

The Washington D.C. Goldback is issued exclusively as a 1 Goldback, containing 1/1,000 troy ounce of 24-karat gold, and was produced in a limited mintage of 250,000 notes. It also introduced new UV-reactive ink elements, adding an interactive and security-enhancing feature that distinguishes it from earlier Goldback designs.

Artwork and Symbolism:

The artwork centers on Columbia, the historic personification of the United States, representing the American people across generations. Unlike state-issued Goldbacks, the Washington D.C. Goldback stands alone as a commemorative national issue dedicated to the Semiquincentennial of the United States. Its limited mintage, exclusive denomination, and enhanced design elements place it in a unique position within the broader Goldback ecosystem—appealing to collectors, historians, and those drawn to alternative forms of sound money rooted in American heritage.

The Dallas Fort Worth Goldback

The Dallas Fort Worth 1 Goldback gives Texans early access to Goldbacks ahead of a full Texas series release. Issued as a special single-design project in 2025, each Dallas Goldback contains 1/1,000th of an ounce of .9999 fine (24-karat) gold, consistent with all standard 1 Goldback denominations and fully interchangeable within the broader Goldback network. The design pays tribute to one of Texas’ most influential regions, blending western heritage with modern energy through imagery inspired by the Dallas skyline, the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, and the distinctly Texan “Y’all Street,” a nod to hospitality, culture, and economic vitality. More than a collectible, the Dallas Fort Worth Goldback represents a creative fusion of regional identity, sound money principles, and tangible precious metal value, while serving as a preview of what’s to come as a complete Texas Goldback series continues to take shape.

The Limited Early Release 3 Goldback

A unique development within the Goldback program is the introduction of the 3 Goldback denomination, issued exclusively as a Limited Early Release (LER). Unlike standard Goldback denominations—which are produced as part of an ongoing, fractional gold currency series—the 3 Goldback is not a regular issue and is subject to strict mintage limits.

To date, the 3 Goldback has been issued only for Oklahoma and Arizona, with Oklahoma being the first state to receive the denomination. Each 3 Goldback contains 0.003 troy ounces of .9999 fine (24-karat) gold and is produced in limited quantities, making it distinctly different from the unlimited denominations such as the 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 Goldbacks.

The Oklahoma 3 Goldback LER is capped at a strict mintage of just 4,000 notes, immediately positioning it as a collectible issue rather than a circulation-focused piece. Its limited availability, combined with its status as a non-standard denomination, has made it one of the most distinctive Goldbacks released to date.

Importantly, the 3 Goldback is not part of the standard fractional Goldback lineup and is not expected to appear as a regular denomination in future state series. However, it may reappear selectively through future Limited Early Release programs, depending on state launches and production decisions.
