In an exciting new development in the world of bullion, the Royal Canadian Mint announces the first proven, answer to those unsightly white spots on coins. The white spots that crop up on the surface of your beautiful and reflective silver bullion coins. The Royal Canadian Mint's minting process now uses the brand new MINTSHIELD technology.  For a long time, these “milk spots” have plagued collectors of coins like the Silver Maple Leaf. (for more information on these, reference our previous post here). There has never really been a clear resolution available. Milk spots don’t occur due to improper care of a coin. They don’t grow or shrink if given time. Mostly, they have baffled mints and collectors by just appearing on coins well cared for or not.

Preventing Milk Spots

Although milk spots do not detract from the value of the coin, they do affect its visual appeal. For the Royal Canadian Mint to address the problem, they first had to determine what the period cause was. Following a full range of testing, they were able to decide on the many different factors that can cause these spots. These can include the reaction of silver with the contaminants it comes in contact with through processing.

Mintshield Technology--Maple Leaf Coins

In response to this problem facing its collectors, the Royal Canadian Mint has created MINTSHIELD technology. This technology will now protect all Silver Maple Leaf coins from 2018 onwards. By adding this protection to the production process, the Royal Canadian Mint will ensure that each coin will look continue to beautiful for a long time. It will not affect the production process. Additionally, it will not impact the purity of the precious metal that composes the coin. Don’t delay, order the first Maple Leaf coins today! You can now carry this incredible, new technology today!

To whom it may concern I am just curious does the RCM ten oz. bar have the same mint shield technology on it as a Canadian maple leaf coin?
