The new 2018 5 oz Silver America The Beautiful coin is here! This time honoring Georgia and the Cumberland Island National Seashore preserve. It preserves most of Cumberland Island in Camden County, Georgia. This coin is the 44th release in the ATB coins series.

This coin release is part of the United States America the Beautiful quarter series. The series is a 56 coin program that represents all 50 states, five overseas territories, and the District of Columbia. Hence, it is extremely sought out by collectors and will prove to be one of a kind.

This is because each coin depicts one of our national parks on a gorgeous 5 oz coin. In 2008 America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act was signed. This act authorized the production of five-ounce silver bullion coins replicating each of the designs featured on the United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters.

The Design

Made from .999 fine silver this 5-ounce coin depicts the Cumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia. Accessible only by boat with only a 300 visitor capacity, this park has 23 distinct ecological communities.

From the pristine maritime forests, gorgeous beaches, and the overall natural beauty of this coin, it is sure to be a hit in the ATB series.

The reverse of this coin features a snowy egret with its wings spread on a branch in front of a marsh. With the inscriptions for the park: “CUMBERLAND ISLAND,” “GEORGIA,” and “E Pluribus Unum”.

The obverse of this coin shows the left facing portrait of President George Washington as designed by John Flanagan. With the standard inscriptions of “United States of America,” “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” and “Quarter Dollar”.

This coin and every coin released in this series come in brilliant uncirculated condition (BU). Each individual coin will come in a plastic flip and lots of 10 will come in a protective tube.
