Gold Spot Price today slightly increased to $1,266.80 (+0.09%) per ounce, Silver Price $17.31 (-0.17%), Platinum Price $950.50 (-0.02%), Palladium Price $826.70 (+0.94%), Dow Jones index 20981.33 (0.03% decrease).

U.S. Dollar vs Precious metals

The US Dollar edged up in trading on Friday. Yet, investors continue to monitor tension after a losing track for greenback against a basket of currencies was too long. General view that the US Dollar continues to struggle as US economic data surprises have turned lower. Additionally, expectations of large tax reforms have been pushed back by Congress. And, President Trump indicated lately that he would prefer a weaker Dollar. Market analysts noted the main problem for US Dollar Index these last months that the US administration has failed to provide significant clarity and guidance on its proposals and, importantly, their implementation. Gold prices was a little changed on Friday, silver price and platinum price went down, meanwhile, palladium closes the week with a high increase.

Stock Market Today

U.S. stocks on Friday opened slightly higher S&P 500 2388.77 (+0.03%) and NASDAQ Index 6048.94 (+0.15%), Dow Jones Industrial Average 20981.33 (+0.03%). The major U.S. stock indexes closed with a little change this week. They are holding within 1 percent of their intraday highs. This is after the announcement of President Donald Trump's tax plan. Top officials called the proposal the "biggest tax cut" in U.S. history. Yet, remained vague on highly anticipated details such as the tax rate on repatriation of overseas profits. US President Donald Trump told Reuters in an Oval Office interview yesterday that a major conflict with North Korea is possible. As there is the standoff over its nuclear and missile programs. But, he would prefer a diplomatic solution. Investors suggest diplomatic solution for late geopolitical tension could have a huge impact on recovery of  US economy. The Economic calendar for today: Employment Cost Index, Consumer Sentiment, Chicago PMI.
