Apostle Islands Lakeshore America the Beautiful Silver Coin

The 'America the Beautiful' series has been pleasing collectors and consumers of these beautiful silver coins from the U.S. Mint since 2010.

As part of their twelve-year initiative, the U.S. Mint has been releasing five different designs for the reverse side of these quarters every year with a final design that will be released in 2021. In this latest release, the mint has released the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore design which is located in Wisconsin. The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore has 21 islands. In addition, there is a long stretch of shoreline on the northern tip of Wisconsin bordering Lake Superior. This scenic area features some of the most incredible scenery and imagery with plentiful wildlife that thrives there, including American Bald Eagles, Falcons, and other birds of prey, as well as Black Bears and lush fauna. This area also includes picturesque sea caves and beautiful old lighthouses that still operate to this day. The Apostle Islands Silver Quarters feature these same famous sea caves on Devil’s Island along with the lighthouse in the background with an adventurous kayaker paddling graciously along Lake Superior in the foreground. The 2018 5 oz. Silver Coin has a three-inch diameter and has been minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The edge of the coin has lettering and it comes in an Uncirculated finish.
