Additional Coin Details

Both the reverse and obverse sides of the coin showcase the basic design of the iconic Walking Liberty minted from 1916 to 1947. It bases on the extremely popular American Silver Eagle coin. The American Silver Eagle Coin came in 1986.

The images are courtesy of the famous American sculptor, Adolph A. Weinman. His “W” initial is on the coin’s head. (One of the few differences between the centennial and original coins). On the obverse side is the graceful full-length figure of Lady Liberty. She stands in full stride. The United States flag’s folds envelopes her. She is holding branches of laurel and oak in her left hand. Her right arm extends. The engravings “Liberty,” “In God We Trust”, and “2016” encircle her arm.

The reverse side showcases the majestic American eagle. It is rising from a top perch of a mountain. Also are the inscriptions “Half Dollar,” “E Pluribus Unum,” and “United States of America.” There is also the “W” mintmark, purity, and weight of the coin. (another unique feature of the anniversary edition).
