The Queen’s Beasts Coin Collection began in 2016 to honor Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II for achieving the world record as the world’s longest-reigning monarch in history in September 2015. She was crowned in 1953 in Westminster Abbey, where statues of these remarkable beasts stood guard over the coronation. Each beast represents her royal lineage from the Lion of England (Richard the Lionheart) to the White Greyhound of Richmond (the Houses of York and Lancaster). In April 2021, she reached her 95th birthday.
