The V75 privy mark is the first privy mark on any of the Gold and American Silver Eagle coins. The “V” on the 1 oz Silver Eagle coin means “Victory,” and the “75” indicates the anniversary of WWII’s official end. The heraldic bald eagle spreads its wings wide while clutching a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. It also holds a banner in its beak that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. On its chest is a shield emblazoned with the US flag. Thirteen stars shine above the eagle’s head to signify the original thirteen colonies. This is one of the last times the American Silver Eagle will bear this reverse design.
