Back in 2017, the first Palladium American Eagle BU coin hit shelves. The year after that, the first Proof Palladium American Eagle Coin was released to the excitement of coin collectors worldwide. Then in 2019, the first reverse proof edition debuted. This year, the US Mint is offering the new first-ever Burnished Palladium Eagle, making this the fourth year in a row of the first-ever Palladium Eagle releases. The illustration found on the Palladium American Eagles is based on the beloved Mercury Dime. Lady Liberty on this coin wears a winged “Phrygian” cap and is often confused with the Roman God Mercury because of it. Her hat actually signifies “Liberty of Thought”, a highly respected American ideal.

The obverse of this palladium American Eagle coin is Liberty in a Phrygian cap, from the "Winged Liberty Head" design. Inscriptions include "2020," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "LIBERTY." The reverse showcases a bald eagle with an olive branch. Inscriptions are 1 OZ," "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and ".9995 FINE."
