This 2017 1 oz Palladium American Eagle PCGS MS 69 First Strike is the first palladium coin in US Mint American Eagle program. The U.S. Mint proudly adds a new metal to the American Eagle program. This is a significant moment in American numismatics, which will make the American Eagles even more exclusive and collectible coins on the market.
The coin’s obverse design based on Adolph A Weinman’s Winged Liberty dime, which has also been called the Mercury dime. The obverse depicts a profile view of Lady Liberty with her hair tucked into a winged Phrygian cap. Inscriptions: “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2017.”
The reverse is based on the American Institute of Architects’ gold medal from 1907. An eagle perched on a rock pulls at a laurel branch with its beak and talons. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ Pd .9995 FINE,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” and $25 denomination.
