Lu Bu was a legendary Chinese general who lived during the Eastern Han dynasty in the 2nd Century. He is remembered as an undefeated fighter who was skilled in archery and horse riding. Therefore, Lu Bu attained his nickname “The Flying General.” Unfortunately, Lu Bu was also well known for being capricious and constantly turned on his allies in favor of supporting others. Consequently, Lu Bu was eventually captured and executed by a former ally in 199. This coin is part of the Warriors of Ancient China coin program.

The obverse of the gold-plated coin shows the regal profile of Queen Elizabeth II. She wears her elegant crown and is surrounded by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "NIUE", as well as the denomination, and the year of mintage. Enveloping this design is a powerful dragon and three swords.

The reverse features Lu Bu mid-battle as he shoots an arrow at an enemy. Lu Bu rides a massive horse dressed in armor. Smoke billows behind him, contrasting with the gold plating of the background.
