This superb 2017 1/10 oz South Korea Gold Chiwoo Cheonwang Medal is the new stunning issue from KOMSCO, the South Korean Mint, displaying the iconic figure of Chiwoo Cheonwang - the Asian God of War.

This renowned symbol of the South Korean culture and history, Chiwoo Cheonwang, was the 14th leader of ancient Baedal being also considered the God of War in the ancient Asian mythology. He is well-known for his demon-like mask, being showcased as casting magic spells and conveying fear to all enemies which seek war against the nation of South Korea. The mask was also the mascot of Red Devils - the passionate supporters’ club of the national soccer team - during the 2002 World Cup.

The obverse features the image of Chiwoo shield, bearing his own imposing mask that he wore during battle. This side also shows the issuing nation, KOMSCO mark, and the latent security image of the gold purity within a circle. The medal reverse depicts the image of the mythical God of War himself, atop his warhorse, with a shield in his left hand and a long spear in his right hand.
