What is Cardano ADA?
Cardano (ADA) is a proof-of-stake blockchain platform launched in 2017 by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson. Developed by IOHK (Input Output Hong Kong), Cardano was built with academic research and peer-reviewed development at its core, offering a robust, secure, and scalable foundation for smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps).
Cardano’s architecture is split into two layers: the Cardano Settlement Layer (CSL) for ADA transactions and the Cardano Computation Layer (CCL) for executing smart contracts. This separation enhances flexibility and scalability, giving Cardano a unique edge in network design.
Its consensus mechanism, Ouroboros, is the first provably secure proof-of-stake protocol, offering significant energy efficiency over traditional proof-of-work systems. ADA, the native token, is used for staking, transaction fees, and network governance—allowing users to help shape future upgrades.
Cardano distinguishes itself with a strong focus on sustainability, interoperability, and formal verification—a method used to mathematically prove the correctness of smart contracts. Its development roadmap includes multiple phases: Byron (foundation), Shelley (decentralization), Goguen (smart contracts), Basho (scaling), and Voltaire (governance).
ADA is widely available on major exchanges such as Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken, and can be stored in wallets like Daedalus, Yoroi, or Ledger. Cardano’s price is influenced by development milestones, staking activity, adoption rates, and broader market sentiment.
Bullion Exchanges proudly accepts cryptocurrencies via BitPay for the purchase of physical gold, silver, and other precious metals. You can seamlessly convert this academically-driven crypto asset into tangible stores of wealth.
