1903 LOUISIANA PURCHASE EXPOSITION MCKINLEY GOLD COIN

This exquisite and historical gold coin honors the Louisiana purchase, which doubled the size of our great nation to what it is now. The obverse features a portrait of President William McKinley and the inscriptions “United States of America.” The reverse showcases an olive branch with the dates “1903-1903” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the purchase. 

1904 GOLD LEWIS AND CLARK COIN

In 1803, after President Thomas Jefferson finished the Louisiana purchase, he needed someone to explore and map out the new America. So, Lewis and Clark set out on the remarkable journey. This coin celebrates their achievements as they explored the new land. They were the “trailblazers of the 19th century”. The obverse features Lewis and the reverse showcases Clark. 

1903 JEFFERSON LOUISIANA PURCHASE GOLD COMMEMORATIVE COIN

The obverse of this handsome coin features Thomas Jefferson’s portrait and the inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” The reverse shows the coin’s $1 denomination and year of mintage. 

THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE

In 1803, Thomas Jefferson bought Louisiana (a French territory) for 15 million dollars. It was composed of 828,00 square miles. The following states were part of this territory: Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This was one of the most significant events in American history and doubled the size of our beloved country overnight. In 1904, congress approved a 5 million dollar budget for the 100th Anniversary Celebration in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, they authorized the minting of 250,000 commemorative gold dollars.

1915 PANAMA PACIFIC EXPOSITION COMMEMORATIVE GOLD COIN

This NGC certified coin is not only beautiful but a rarity. It shows honor to the opening of the famous Panama Canal and the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and World Fair in San Francisco. The obverse showcases Columbia, a goddess-like representation of the United States. She holds a Caduceus and rides a mythical hippocampus through the calm waters. The reverse is a majestic bald eagle on a column. You’ll also find the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” AND “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

1852 $20 AUGUSTUS HUMBERT TERRITORIAL GOLD COIN

This scarce NGC certified coin of XF 45 has only 16 accredited pieces in total. These historical coins show an eagle in defiance on the obverse. There is a U.S. shield resting against a rock, to symbolize the constitution. The claws of the eagle contain an olive branch and arrows. The inscription “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” surround him. The scroll in beak is said to be “Liberty.” On the reverse displays the inscription “AUGUSTUS HUMBERT UNITED STATES ASSAYER OF GOLD CALIFORNIA.”
