Who is Lady Liberty?
The earliest version of the Lady Liberty dates back to the establishment of the Roman Republic. The goddess Libertas, a personification of liberty worshipped by the Roman Junii, also makes an appearance on the Great Seal of France. Subsequently, this inspired French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi when he created the famous Statue of Liberty. This statue, also named “Liberty Enlightening the World”, currently sits in the New York Harbor.
