America’s rich history includes the right to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Celebrate this history with the gorgeous Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Platinum Proof Coin Series. This 3-year series features stunning imagery, 99.95% pure platinum coins, and beautiful details of Lady Liberty as she “guides” her young country. The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence goes as follows: “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Therefore, Bullion Exchanges is pleased to introduce the second coin of this special series, the 2019 ‘Liberty’ Platinum Proof Coin with $100 face value.

The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence Platinum Proof Coin Series

The series takes inspiration from the handwritten words of the Preamble, and this gorgeous 2019 Lady Liberty coin is no different. The other two coins in the series are the 2018 “Life” coin and the future 2020 “Happiness” coin. This 2019 coin will officially release on January 31, 2019, at noon EST. Each year the obverse design changes. Meanwhile, the reverse is the same design for all three. Additionally, the coin is 99.95% platinum and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Mint. It is encapsulated and presented in a black velvet satin-lined case. The mints strike at the West Point Mint. Furthermore, In this series, Lady Liberty is a teacher and guide to young children, representing America as a young country. So, she teaches the complex truths of “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” to her young student. All three coins portray “Life” “Liberty” or “Happiness” in the same writing style as how they are in the Declaration of Independence.

2019 Lady Liberty Coin from the US Mint

The obverse features Lady Liberty overseeing her land--the mountains, water, and prairies. A wagon with travelers heads west to find a new life. So, it is a beautiful reminder of the American soul and spirit, and the freedom to explore and pursue new life and land. Lady liberty parts her lips, a symbolization of America’s freedom of speech. Also, her lit torch is there to guide weary travelers on their way. Then, she has an open book in her hands--representing American law. Lastly, the obverse is a design by Justin Kunz. The reverse is the same design all three years--a majestic bald eagle in flight. The eagle’s massive wings spread out across the coin. Furthermore, the eagle clutches an olive branch in his talons. It is a design by Patricia Lucas-Morris. And, it is a sculpture by Don Everhart.

The Other Coins

The 2018 “Life” coin features Lady Liberty carrying a small child. Liberty teaches a small child to plant seeds in a field. So, this design symbolizes harvest and abundance overlooking America’s majestic mountains and “future” fruited plains. The background showcases a streaming river surrounded by land, mountains, and a tree. Additionally, Lady Liberty carries a sword, symbolizing the power to defend life. To sum, the coin portrays the labor and thought involved in sustaining life. The 2020 “Happiness” coin features Lady Liberty picking the bounty of her harvest of fruit. She is next to a young child, who is holding an olive branch and happily reaching out for a butterfly in flight. Lady Liberty’s abundant harvest placed into her cornucopia represents the spiritual, intellectual, and physical bounty only liberty makes possible--all the beautiful things that nourish and satisfy our minds, bodies, and souls. Lastly, in the background is a quaint farmhouse, field, and trees.
