$5 Face Value Mercury Dimes 90% Silver 50-Coin Roll (Circulated)

Each of these great rolls contains fifty 90% silver U.S. dimes for a total of $5 face value, chosen randomly from 1916-1945 Mercury dimes, totaling approximately 3.617 troy oz of fine silver.

The Mercury Dime, also known as the Winged Liberty Head dime, was first struck by the United States Mint in 1916 and was produced from 1916-1945 with a composition of 90% silver. After 1945 the Roosevelt dimes were produced.

The dime gained its common name from the fact that the obverse's depiction of Lady Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap was confused with the Roman Goddess Mercury. The wings on the cap are intended to symbolize liberty of thought. The inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year are present on the obverse.

The reverse depicts a fasces (bound bundle of wooden rods), symbolizing unity and strength, and an olive branch, signifying peace. Inscriptions on the reverse are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM ("Out of Many, One"), and ONE DIME.
