The Gold American Eagle and Silver American Eagle coin series began in 1986 and used the reverse designs by Miley Busiek and John Mercanti, respectively. To commemorate the program’s 35th anniversary, the US Mint meticulously crafted new reverse designs while incorporating special security features within the images. For all the post-2021 Silver Eagle coins, including this US Mint Proof Silver Eagle, an American Bald Eagle is shown in mid-flight. 

The obverse features an enhanced version of the beloved “Walking Liberty '' design by Adolph A Weinman. Using modern design technology, the updated obverse provides a closer reflection of Weinman’s original vision. The enhanced design also includes Weinman’s traditional artist mark. Lady Liberty, draped in the billowing American Flag, strides forward towards the sunrise. She gently cradles branches of olive and oak in her left arm while reaching her right arm straight ahead towards the horizon.

The reverse showcases the design by Emily Damstra. A Bald Eagle flies downward, preparing to land with outstretched wings. The eagle clutches an oak branch in its talons.
