The obverse of this Proof Silver Eagle remains unchanged with Adolph A Weinman’s “Walking Liberty” design. First used for the silver half-dollar (1916-1947), this beloved image was restored for the Silver Eagle coins. In this image, Lady Liberty wears a Phrygian cap on her head and an American Flag around her shoulders as she strides towards the rising sun. She holds a bounty of oak and laurel branches in her left arm as her right extends to the sunrise.

The new reverse of the 2021 Silver Eagles spotlights a flying American Bald Eagle as it carries an oak branch.
