As the gold and silver American Eagle coin series began in 1986, the year 2021 notably marks the program’s 35th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the US Mint meticulously crafted new reverse designs while incorporating special security features within the images. This new design for both the Gold and Silver Eagles features realistic depictions of the American Bald Eagle. For all the new Silver Eagles, including this US Mint proof Silver Eagle, an American Bald Eagle is shown in mid-flight.

The obverse of this proof Silver Eagle still features Adolph A Weinman’s “Walking Liberty” image. Lady Liberty walks towards the rising sun while carrying oak and laurel branches in her left arm. She reaches her right arm out towards the horizon as the American flag gently billows around her shoulders.

The new reverse design of the Silver Eagle proof coin showcases a bald eagle carrying an oak branch as it flies through the sky. Inscriptions including the country, weight, purity, denomination, West Point mintmark, and the US motto “E Pluribus Unum”.
