The obverse of the coin still displays the beloved “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A Weinman. Draped in the billowing American Flag, Lady Liberty walks forward towards the rising sun. She gently cradles branches of olive and oak in her left arm while reaching her right arm towards the horizon. 

The reverse portrays the new design by AIP artist Emily Damstra. A Bald Eagle soars through the air, preparing to land with outstretched wings. The eagle also firmly grasps an oak branch in its talons.
