The obverse of the coin presents the beloved “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A Weinman. Lady Liberty, draped in the billowing American Flag, walks forward towards the sunrise. She cradles branches of olive and oak in her left arm while reaching her right arm towards the horizon.

The reverse depicts the new design by AIP artist Emily Damstra. A Bald Eagle soars through the air, preparing to land with outstretched wings. The eagle also grasps an oak branch in its talons.
