2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Emergency Production

Please note this coin was produced by the Philadelphia Mint but does not carry the "P" mintmark. Also, this is the last American Silver Eagle carrying the original reverse design.

Bullion Exchanges now offers the 2021 (P) 1 oz Silver American Eagle NGC MS 69 ER Emergency Issue. These American Eagle coins carry a face value of $1 and contain 1 troy oz of fine .999 silver. Although they do not feature a “P” mintmark, each of these 2021 (P) Silver Eagles arrive in a holder featuring a Philadelphia Emergency Issue label. Additionally, these Silver Eagles were graded by NGC as a near-perfect MS 69, increasing their appeal. These coins also received an “Early Releases” designation, indicating they were received for grading within the first 30 days of the coin’s official release! Add this 2021 (P) Emergency Issue Silver Eagle to your collection today!

During the year 2020, the US Mint persevered through the global health crisis to keep its workers safe and maintain steady production into 2021. Struggling with a shortened silver supply and limited resources at its facilities, the Mint was forced to delay the release of silver coins — including the 2021 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars. Because of the ever-present demand for US silver bullion, the Philadelphia branch stepped in and produced these 2021 Silver Eagle coins. Therefore, these coins are designated as “Emergency Issues”. These 2021 (P) Silver Eagles would make a wonderful addition to any growing portfolio, as they are among the final graded editions to carry the original reverse design!

The original 1916 Adolph  A. Weinman “Walking Liberty” design remains on the coin’s obverse. Lady Liberty marches to the coin’s left, her right arm outstretched towards the rising sun with the American flag billowing in the background behind her. She also bears a bounty of olive and oak branches in her left arm.

The coin’s reverse features John Mercanti’s original Eagle design: the United States national coat of arms. This image displays a bald eagle with outstretched wings clutching a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. The eagle holds a banner in its beak that reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”, and bears a shield with the US flag. The 13 stars above the eagle’s head symbolize the original colonies.
