The Maple Leaf forever coin is an annual platinum Maple Leaf coin that is usually released in a limited amount. The name of this coin, Maple Leaf Forever, is inspired by a Canadian song written by Alexander Muir in 1867 for Canada’s Confederation. This musician wrote the song after serving the Queen’s Own Rifles of Toronto in the Battle of Ridgeway in 1866. The Canadian Confederation was the process of Canada (Ontario and Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick becoming one nation known as the Dominion of Canada on July 1, 1867. These Maple Leaf forever coins are among the most beautiful platinum Maple Leaf coins. This release features a special privy mark that reads "25" for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the maple tree's designation as Canada's national arboreal symbol. The obverse of the platinum Maple Leaf coin contains the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003, highlighted in rose gold plating. The Queen wears her royal earrings and necklace as she looks to the right of the coin. Around her are inscriptions bearing her name, "Queen by the Grace of God" in Latin, and the coin’s face value. The rim of the coin is also plated in rose gold.

The reverse displays three bigleaf maple leaves colorized with rose and yellow gold plating to represent the autumnal color change. Engravings make up the border of the coin that read the country of issue, the purity, year of mintage, and “Platinum 1 oz Platine”.
