Modified details can be seen on the bordering stars, Liberty’s torch, the sun rays, the background Capitol building, and other elements as well.Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ image portrays Lady Liberty striding forward. She holds a flaming torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other, signifying peace through strength. Rays of sunlight radiate from the US Capitol behind her.

The reverse of the Gold Eagle features the new reverse design: A close-up image of the left side of a bald eagle’s head. Inscriptions surrounding the eagle include the country, weight, purity, denomination, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “In God We Trust”.
