This V75 privy mark on the 2020-W 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle greatly enhances the coin’s collectibility. The outline of the V75 privy mark mirrors the shape of the Rainbow Pool, part of the World War II Memorial located in Washington, DC. The letter “V” stands for “Victory” and the number 75 denotes the 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII.
The obverse of the 2020-W V75 Privy 1 oz Proof Silver American Eagle features Adolph A. Weinman’s ‘Walking Liberty’ design that first graced the 1916 American silver half dollar. Lady Liberty walks to the coin’s left with an outstretched arm reaching towards the rising sun. She also holds olive and oak branches in her left arm. The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed along the rim of the coin, along with the year of issue, the phrase “IN GOD WE TRUST”, and the special V75 privy mark.
The coin’s reverse showcases the US National Coat of Arms by John Mercanti. A bald eagle stretches its wings and holds both a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other. A banner is clutched in its beak, and it reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. On its chest is a shield emblazoned with the US flag. 13 stars shine above the eagle’s head, representing the 13 colonies. The weight, purity, denomination, West Point mintmark, and country’s name are inscribed around the rim.
