The special V75 Privy mark makes the 2020-W Proof Gold Eagle issue truly unique. The “V” stands for Victory while the “75” denotes the number of years that have passed since WWII’s end. The privy mark itself is shaped like the Rainbow Pool in Washington DC, which was integrated into the World War II Memorial in 2001.

The obverse of the V75 Privy Proof Gold Eagle showcases the iconic Augustus Saint-Gaudens illustration of Lady Liberty striding forward. She clutches a torch in one hand and a laurel branch in the other. The capitol building lies behind her with the sunrise gleaming over the top. The obverse also features the special edition V75 privy mark and W mintmark.

The reverse of the 2020 Gold Eagle, designed by artist Miley Busiek, displays a family of bald eagles. While clutching an olive branch in its talons, one parent lands in its nest- where the other Eagle parent and hatchlings await.
