The V75 Privy mark makes this year’s Proof Gold Eagle release truly special. The “V” for Victory is joined by the “75”, which denotes the number of years that have passed since the end of WWII. Also, the unique privy mark is shaped like the Rainbow Pool in Washington DC, which was integrated into the World War II Memorial in 2001.

The obverse of this V75 Privy Proof Gold Eagle showcases the iconic Augustus Saint-Gaudens illustration as showcased on other Gold eagle coins. Lady Liberty proudly strides forth while clutching a torch in one hand and a laurel branch in the other. The capitol building lies behind her with the sunrise gleaming from behind. Small stars encircle the border. The obverse also bears the special edition V75 privy mark and W mintmark.

The reverse of the 2020 Gold Eagle, designed by artist Miley Busiek, features a family of bald eagles. One parent returns to its nest while clutching an olive branch in its talons. The other Eagle parent and hatchlings await their landing.
