2018 5 oz Niue Silver $10 Double Dragon BU
The Dragon is a mythological symbol of raw power, mighty strength, and good fortune. It is the most popular and enduring symbol from the Chinese Lunar Calendar. According to Chinese tradition, dragons are usually portrayed alongside glowing or flaming pearls. Pearls represent spiritual energy, wisdom, prosperity, and immortality. The presence of two dragons with a flaming pearl makes a very auspicious addition to any collection or as a high-grade investment.
The reverse portrays two worm dragons surrounding a flaming pearl. The dragons look fierce with their highly-detailed scales as they snarl at each other. These Double Dragon silver coins from Niue have been struck from .999 fine silver by the New Zealand Mint, coming in a one-ounce and five-ounce size. The obverse features the right side profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. Also, there is a honeycomb pattern mimicking the dragon scales on the background of the coin. The pearl rests above the Chinese symbol for Dragon. Both sides of the coin feature a reverse-scalloped design running around the edge that also mimics dragon scales.
Each coin has a face value of $10 (NZD) and are a legal tender and fully backed by Niue’s government. Bullion Exchanges is proud to carry these Silver Double Dragon coins.
