This episode is famous for being the world's introduction to the beloved Disney character, as well as the first cartoon to feature synchronized sound.

The obverse is graced by the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Rim inscriptions indicate the Queen's name, the year of mintage, the face value, and the issuing country (Niue). The reverse features a classic Disney scene from Walt Disney's pilot episode, "Steamboat Willie," with the original air date of 1928 struck below the title along the top rim.
