History:
American Eagle Gold coins were first minted in 1986 after the enactment of the Gold Bullion Act of 1985 by the Congress. The coins are minted in 4 different sizes; 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10th oz. The U.S. Mint mints the American Eagles every year, of which one is the bullion coins and the other is the Proof coins. Proof coins which have limited mintage. 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins.
