2016 celebrates 30 years of the official bullion coins of the United States of America, the American Gold Eagle. It was first minted in 1986 by the US Mint at the West Point Mint Branch in New York City. Since then it has never had to look back as it has risen in its popularity to such an extent that it has received worldwide recognition in just 30 years.
