The 2015 Saratoga National Historic Park 5 oz Silver Coin is the fifth to be released in the 2015 America the Beautiful Quarters Series. Each coin contains 5 ounces of .9999 fine silver and has been issued a face value of $.25. The Saratoga National Historical Park Coin is the 30th strike in the America the Beautiful Quarters Series which is slated to continue until at least 2021. The American the Beautiful Quarters Series is a 56 coin series issued by the United States Mint which began in 2010 and is scheduled to continue until at 2021. The quarters have been issued depicting designs of national parks and sites in the order to which that park or site was deemed a national site. Though they may depict the same sites, they bear new designs. They feature an uncirculated finish and contain a “P” mintmark indicating they were struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia, the bullions coins were also struck in Philadelphia but contain no mintmark.

Saratoga National Park is a United States National Historical Park located in the Town of Stillwater, in eastern New York.  The park preserves the site of the Battles of Saratoga, the first significant American military victory of the American Revolutionary War. In 1777 American forces defeated France which marked a turning point in the revolution, as it convinced France to enter the war on the American’s side.

The park was first authorized as a New York State historic preserve in 1927 on the sesquicentennial of the Battles, the Saratoga National Historical Park was established in 1938 after receiving approval from the United States Congress.

Saratoga National Park is also home to General Philip Schuyler’s House, the brick mansion is now a museum and an official National Historic Landmark. It was constructed from 1761 to 1762 for General Philip Schuyler of the Continental Army. He resided there from 1763 until his death in 1804.
