Hera is the Greek goddess of marriage and family. She is also the queen of the ancient Greek gods due to her marriage to Zeus. She represents what the ideal woman was for ancient Greece, despite her vengeful jealousy. Because of Zeus’ philandering nature, Hera often takes revenge on the women who Zeus has illegitimate children with. However, she remains faithful to her marriage and is one of the few deities to do so. Therefore, she symbolizes monogamy and fidelity. The children Hera and Zeus have together are Ares (god of war), Hebe (goddess of youth), and Eileithyia (goddess of childbirth). Alone, she gave birth to Hephaistos (god of fire and metallurgy) in response to Zeus creating Athena by himself.

The obverse shows the regal profile of Queen Elizabeth II. She wears her elegant crown and is surrounded by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "TUVALU", as well as the denomination, and the year of mintage.

The reverse of the Hera Goddesses of Olympus Silver Coin features the Goddess Hera with her staff as she sits on her throne at Mount Olympus. There is an animal on either side of her, specifically a peacock on her left and a lioness.
