The South African Krugerrand is one of the most well-known coins in the industry. The coins were first produced in 1967 and offered in convenient sizes of 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz. The design on all coin sizes features a left-facing profile portrait of Boer Statesman Paul Kruger on the obverse and a Springbok antelope on the reverse. The name of the coin is a combination of the name of Paul Kruger - the former South African President and Rand - the South African currency.

For 2015, the South Africa Mint certified only the first 175 Gold Krugerrand Proof Sets as the official First Strikes. This is the smallest limit edition since the inception of the First Strike Krugerrand program in2005. The set contains all four sizes of 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz 1/2 oz, and 1 oz Proof Gold Krugerrands. Each coin in this set was verified by NGC and has a grade - PF 70, and sealed in a special NGC holder. All four coins come in a beautiful wooden box with a certificate of authenticity. Although Kruggerands are legal tender, they have never recorded a face value. The value of each coin is directly related to the prevailing value of its gold content.
