The panda coin is comprised of .999 fine silver and has a beautiful luster, with the panda’s black features depicted with careful shading. The 2014 design features a panda toying with a large tree branch. Behind it, the bamboo forest stretches upward. The denomination 50 Yuan is to the right, and the words “5 oz Ag 999” are near the rim. The obverse features the iconic Temple of Heaven in the center, with Chinese characters near the top of the rim saying "中华人民共和国," meaning People's Republic of China, and the year of issue is marked near the bottom.
