2014 5 oz ATB Silver Shenandoah National Park Coin NGC MS 69 DPL
The Shenandoah National Park quarter is the second of 2014 and the 22nd overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. Just 75 miles from Washington, D.C., Shenandoah National Park is an escape for travelers wanting a wide range of outdoor adventures. It features cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas and quiet wooded hollows. Park visitors enjoy hiking, meandering along the scenic Skyline Drive, or camping and picnicking with family or friends. Park habitats provide a haven for black bear and numerous songbirds.
This beautifully designed Silver coin is composed of 5 oz. of .999 fine silver, and graded by NGC as a Mint State 69, a sharp, attractive, nearly perfect strike and with few to no blemishes. The coin is 76.2 mm in diameter and 4.06 mm in thickness. Although this coin is not a proof, NGC has labeled it DPL (or Deep Proof Like), which indicates a degree of reflectivity evident in the coin’s field.
The reverse design depicts a hiker enjoying the view from Little Stony Man summit. Inscriptions are SHENANDOAH, VIRGINIA, 2014 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
The obverse features George Washington's noble portrait with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and QUARTER DOLLAR. The edges of these 5 oz silver bullion coins are smooth and contain the inscription: .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE.
