The 1988 1 oz Chinese Gold Panda Sino-American Friendship Medal was minted to commemorate the China Mint Company's participation in the International Investors Conference in New Orleans, which took place in 1988. Graded PF 62 by NGC, this medal is made from .999 fine gold and weighs 1 troy ounce.

The obverse depicts a Chinese ship on the top of the medal and an American Riverboat on the bottom, with the words "Sino-American Friendship" in between them. The inscription "NEW ORLEANS 1988" appears at the bottom.

The reverse displays a Chinese Panda gripping a large branch of bamboo while her cub reaches for the leaves. Inscriptions include the weight and purity of the medal.
