These $10 Liberty Gold Eagles are a perfect testament to America's glorious history. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, Chief Engraver of the US Mint from 1840 to 1844, the coin weighs .4838 troy ounces and is struck in 90% fine gold.
The coin features Lady Liberty facing to the left. While the reverse features a bald eagle, wings outstretched with a shield across its chest. Because of its convenient size and denomination, the $10 Liberty was instantly popular and became one of the most circulated coins in U.S. history.
