1898-S $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle Gold Coin NGC MS 61
The 1898-S $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle Gold Coin is a valuable and rare coin that was minted at the San Francisco Mint in 1898. The coin comes graded by NGC as Mint State 61.
The obverse features a left-sided bust of Lady Liberty encircled by 13 stars. Inscriptions include the phrase "LIBERTY" on her hairband and the year of mintage.
The reverse shows a bald eagle with a patriotic shield on its chest and its wings spread open. In its talons are a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination.
